Who are We?
InterVarsity at Virginia Tech is a community for people seeking truth–for those of us who have experienced REAL brokenness, and yearn for REAL answers.
We are a student-led, multi-ethnic Christian fellowship committed to bringing the Hope, Healing, and Reconciliation found only in Jesus Christ to our campus, our communities, and the entire world.
Whether you’re not sure what you think about Jesus, or you’re ready to grow deeper, we encourage you to check out IV!
180 - Friday Night Large Group
180 is a celebration of the radical change that Christ brings into our life when we come into a reconciled relationship with Him. It’s a time to come together in community to enjoy games, random videos, relevant teaching, a diversity of musical worship styles, and great hangout time before and afterwards.
We meet on Friday nights from 7:00pm-8:15pm in Litton Reaves 1670.
180 is a great end to your week and start to your weekend. If you’ve never been, we hope you’ll come check it out, and look forward to hanging out with you!
Weekly Small Groups
Small Groups meet all across campus, and are at the heart of what IV is all about. They’re a great place to build lasting friendships, dig into the scriptures, and have a whole lot of fun! We have Small Groups all across campus, so no matter where you live, there’s bound to be one nearby. We’d encourage you to visit the one closest to you at least once, but if there’s a particular group you connect better with, you’re more than welcome to get involved in any of them.
Retreats
There’s nothing like a retreat to get you away from the stress of classes and give you a chance to deepen friendships and grow closer to God. Some of our annual retreats include New Student Retreat in September, Chapter Retreat in the Fall, IV Winter Conference in February, Guys/Girls Retreat in the spring, and Rockbridge after finals in May. Every three years, over 20,000 students from across the country and around the world gather in St. Louis MO for InterVarsity’s Urbana student missions conference.
Speaking of Rockbridge… Rockbridge is a week-long end-of-the year retreat held annually at Younglife’s Rockbridge camp, and hosted by InterVarsity Blue Ridge Region. Each year, hundreds of students from chapters across Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina gather together for a week of worship, spiritual growth, and recreation/fellowship. It’s also the place where we set lots of things in place for next year, including training new Small Groups Leaders and casting vision for our chapter.
